This book is presented as an ode to the Riviera from Cannes to Menton, passing through Lérins, Antibes, Cagnes/Mer, St Laurent du Var, Nice, Villefranche, St Jean, and Monaco. Exclusively shot in analog on a "rudimentary" Holga camera, this work by Magali Moscardo delivers an atypical result. Throughout the 35 photographs that make up the book, readers will discover the coastline, rocks, the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the architecture between the Croisette and Menton, including the now-famous blue chairs. We are offering readers and/or collectors a choice of two covers! (Cannes/Carlton and Nice/Prom). This is our second collaboration with Magali, following the 2011 publication of Nice au carré.
The book is a celebration of the Riviera, captured through the unique lens of the Holga camera. From Cannes to Menton, the photographs document the stunning coastline, rock formations, and the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea. But the work also showcases the architectural gems that dot the region, from the iconic Croisette in Cannes to the charming buildings in Menton.
One of the standout features of the book is the inclusion of the famous blue chairs, a ubiquitous sight along the Riviera. These chairs have become a symbol of the region, and their presence in the photographs adds a touch of whimsy and character to the images.
This is the second collaboration between the publisher and Magali Moscardo, following the success of their 2011 publication, Nice au carré. The choice of two cover options, Cannes/Carlton and Nice/Prom, allows readers and collectors to personalize their copy of the book and tailor it to their own preferences.
The use of the Holga camera, with its distinctive rendering, has enabled Magali Moscardo to capture the Riviera in a truly unique and captivating way. The resulting images are atmospheric and evocative, transporting the viewer to the sun-drenched landscapes of this iconic region.
